How to use and maintain casters correctly?
Safe use and correct maintenance are the best safety tips
1、 How to use casters correctly?
The user is responsible for the correct operation and maintenance of the used artificial material transportation equipment. If the operation is wrong, some products will be easily damaged, and the correct use of the products and effective maintenance will make the casters play the maximum effect.
1. Equipment should not be overweight
2. Do not overload wheelbarrow or equipment with caster
3. Try not to operate at high speed
These operations will produce strong impact and vibration, resulting in casters, wheels and equipment not working properly.
Add lubricant
Add lubricating oil to castors or wheels regularly. The frequency of adding depends on the specific use. Generally, add lubricating oil once every half a year, but in the humid and corrosive environment, it is better to add lubricating oil once a month. After cleaning the caster equipment every time, add lubricating oil. In these occasions, high temperature resistant and waterproof grease must be used. Add lubricating oil to castors and bearings regularly during use, and add lubricating oil to places where friction is easy to occur until there is a little overflow, such as wheel core, thrust washer, roller surface of roller bearing, which can reduce friction and make rotation more flexible.
Wheel maintenance and inspection
1. Check the visible wear degree of tire surface. The "grinding point" on the tire surface may indicate the accumulation of foreign matters, such as wire end, iron wire and other foreign matters that may wind around the wheel, take out the bolts and nuts on the wheel, and clean up the foreign matters. Check whether the wheel bearing is damaged. If the parts are not damaged, they can be reassembled for further use. If the wheels are often entangled by sundries, it is recommended to install anti wrapping cover to avoid it.
2. Loose casters or stuck wheels can also cause "grinding point". Proper maintenance and inspection, especially the tightness of bolts, the amount of lubricating oil, and the replacement of damaged casters can enhance the rolling performance and rotation flexibility of the equipment.
3. Serious damage or looseness of rubber tire may lead to rolling instability, air leakage, abnormal load, and damage of bottom plate, etc. timely replacement of damaged tire and bearing can reduce the cost loss caused by shutdown due to damage of caster.
4. After checking the repaired wheels, make sure that the bolts and nuts are tightened, and use lock washers or nuts on all bolts as much as possible. If the bolt is loose, tighten it immediately. If the wheel installed in the bracket is loose, the wheel will be damaged or unable to rotate.
